Journeyman - Week 1
Week 1 was interesting, going into it I didn’t want to be a lead, moments before entering the classroom I was very outward that I didn’t want to be a lead. And yet…as soon as we started choosing I realised it was an opportunity to yap to the other classes and do more presenting which is a skill I needed to work on. I also kinda wanted to get rid of my online/texting anxiety or at least alleviate it. We quickly set up a discord and get everyone in it ASAP using my brute force “scan this QR code right NYOW” method. Which is pretty effective at getting everyone to join.
After meeting with the animation team we decided to make a leads discord with just the leads in it. After this was made I went around doing the same strategy before and making it a point so people know my face. The Character Art leads then set a task for a group. An art test, to showcase the skills of the team and make it easier for myself and the creative lead to delegate characters.
Next I decided to make some sexy spreadsheets to organise the character team. This spreadsheet will be able to be viewed at any given point by any group but can only be edited by the character art leads.
This is the sheet that keeps everyone on the team organised, once a character has been modelled one of the leads will change the status as required. It’s also a good idea to showcase start dates, deadlines and finish dates for future reference
This spreadsheet shows the status of all the assets regarding teams, it’s to make sure that everyone is on board and so teams can see the progress of their model easily.
Showcases the importance of each model so the character art team know what to make first, who’s making each model and the progress. Another form of organisation and give each team peace of mind.
Making the spreadsheets was honestly very fun, but who knows how it’ll turn out in the long run. Hopefully can keep things nice and organised.
