Act 0 Chapter 3 - Ruins

He trekked into the ruins, only to be met with another horrid creature, this one large, triple the size of the Half-Face Alpha stacked on top of each other. It was bipedal, legs that looked like tree stumps, surrounded by twisting, purple vines that climb all the way to its neck, multicoloured gems plagues its body as if a blacksmith had a field-day breaking geodes. Its mouth, protruded obscenely in a circular shape, with hundreds of teeth scattered along in rows from its lips to throat. He looked at towering creature, it’s not moving, not yet anyway. Hell, it might not have even noticed him yet, he took this as an opportunity to rest completely. Analysing the figure of this creature, trying to garner its weak spots using just visual cues, from what he could gather, the skin was generally made of rocks, from the rubble that crumbled off it. The only fleshy part was its mouth, but the teeth looked razor sharp, if it were to clamp down it would surely destroy the stave or even rip through his hand. At the centre of its body there seemed to be something akin to a shell most likely covering its vitals. “Can I even break it?” he thought to himself silently as he prepared to attack.

He decided to try a complicated manoeuvre, sending one gust of wind to the ground, scattering rubble while propelling him upwards, then launched a blast of wind into the creatures mouth, knocking it over and waking it up. An ear-piercing groan enveloped the ruins, causing some of the fractured areas of the colosseum to tumble down. He used the creature’s supine form to relentlessly attack the shell, using gusts of wind to enforce each strike. A crack appeared, that was it, that was all he needed to gather the confidence needed to destroy this creature. Vines started to emerge from the creatures skin without his knowledge. His focus was elsewhere which left him vulnerable, it wrapped vines around his waist and flung him into the ground, over and over again, the force wasn’t enough to break bones but enough to hurt. He held his grunts and breaths, every breath wasted was an attack wasted.

The creature let go, sending him into the side of the ruins, if that wasn’t enough, a bolt of lightning, hit him square in the chest, shocking and paralysing him. Long breaths were unavoidable now, he sent a gust of wind, propelling his spasming limbs directly into the creatures chest knocking it down again, instead of repeated blows, this time he opted for one concentrated gust to shatter the shell. With a strained grunt, he finally managed to tear off the shell that left a glowing, yellow, green and purple fleshy core in its destruction. Despite his spasming limbs he thrusted his stave into its core, however his paralysis stopped him from escaping the explosion.

A jolt, consciousness. A gruff, recognizable voice entered in his confused, dazed state “We now commence the trial of the alleged Ex-Emerald King” the gruff voice paused, as he continued painfully “my son Zayne ‘Liams’ Greed…”
